Does size matter?

So we have had the talk...kind of.  The talk that a two year old is interested in.  Does everyone have a penis?  The kiddo has been very interested in his penis lately, and interested in whether or not everyone else has one.  The conversations go like this:

Caleb:  Mommy's penis?
Mommy:  No, Mommy's don't have a penis.
Caleb:  Caleb's penis?
Mommy:  Yes, you have a penis.
Caleb:  Caleb little penis, daddy big penis.
Mommy: (OMG...I want to laugh out loud) Yes buddy, what do you want for breakfast?

Now, I don't want to make a big deal of it.  He is curious, and no more so now about his penis than he was when he figured out what his ears were.  But the fifth grader in me wants to laugh out loud when the things he says are SO hilarious.

When these conversations happen at home, no big deal.  When they happen in the middle of the cereal aisle at Target is another thing.  Can you say embarrassing?  We were were walking along innocently when the questions started again, in front of two employees.  I just quietly answered the questions while trying desperately to change the subject and look unassuming to the people at Target.  I kept thinking that maybe they could not understand him, but I am pretty sure "penis" comes out very clear to all within earshot.

I guess this is what life is like with a two-year old.  Two is fun.  Two is when the stories start that will be told at his graduation, wedding, or while sitting around reminiscing about the good old days.  It may be strange to think that a conversation (or several) about penises could make me all sentimental and teary eyed, but they do.  He is growing up so fast, and all these embarrassing and funny moments are going to be memories soon.
